Jason Korotkich

Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Jason Korotkich, established Uplift Exercise Physiology after gaining a diverse range of experience working for nationwide rehabilitation and exercise providers, developing teams of Exercise Physiologists, and assisting individuals towards improved health outcomes and quality of life, via exercise prescription and education.
Jason has a particular passion for assisting people with various conditions including but not limited to musculoskeletal, mental health, chronic pain, cancer, neurological, chronic diseases and disability. Jason has over eleven years of experience as an Exercise Physiologist since graduating in 2012.
Having spent time working as a rehabilitation consultant on top of his treatment experience, Jason’s specialisation is in delivering biopsychosocial, outcome focused, exercise rehabilitation programmes within compensable schemes, specifically: Workers Compensation, CTP and Life Insurance. This being said, Jason is equally passionate about improving the lives of NDIS participants and those in the Aged Care sector, and hope to positively impact the live of individuals in these schemes over coming years.
Outside of Uplift, you can find Jason practicing what he preaches, being active, walking along the beautiful beaches of Newcastle, surfing, dabbling in the occasional Park Run, watching the footy and spending time with his family and friends.
William Nieuwenhuise
Team Leader / Senior Exercise Physiologist

Masters Of Clinical Exercise Physiology
William joined the team at Uplift Exercise Physiology after working in the health and fitness industry as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor whilst undertaking his Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Newcastle (2016-2018). William then went on to complete his Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Charles Sturt University (2019-2020) and has attained valuable experience both in a commercial gym and clinical setting.
William is passionate about rebuilding peoples’ capacity and giving them the tools and education to successfully achieve their functional and personal goals as well as setting them up to self-manage their conditions in the long term. William recognises each individual is different, everyone needs a tailored approach to their exercise plan and believes in order to achieve the best outcome you must followed a patient centred and evidence-based approach. William enjoys helping people with musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, mental ill health, strength and conditioning and more recently has shown keen interest in improving outcomes of NDIS participants.
Away from work William is usually training himself, playing his favourite sport Rugby League or visiting his family on the property he grew up on in the Hunter Valley.
Lachlan Haines

Lachlan joined the team at Uplift Exercise Physiology after graduating with a Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Charles Sturt University. Lachlan has also completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Newcastle in 2019 and has had several years of experience as a personal trainer before gaining his accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist
Lachlan is passionate about working collaboratively with people to develop individualised movement and lifestyle plans to help them towards their personal goals. Lachlan specialises in working with people who have conditions including but not limited to neurological disorders (especially Multiple Sclerosis), mental ill health, musculoskeletal injuries, and chronic pain. Lachlan has an innate ability to listen closely to his clients and provide measured, evidence based decisions about their care. Lachlan is determined to help people enhance their overall wellbeing and supports the notion that exercise can positively influence lives.
Outside of work, Lachlan has an active history participating in a wide range of sports including soccer, cricket, running and surfing. Being a Newcastle local, Lachlan likes to explore other areas outside of his hometown and enjoys travelling and discovering new places with his friends and family.
Abby Foulcher

Abby joined the team at Uplift Exercise Physiology after graduating with a Master of Exercise Physiology at the University of Newcastle in 2022. Abby also completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Newcastle in 2019. Abby has several years of experience working as an Accredited Exercise Scientist where she has worked with a broad range of clients including sporting teams and seniors.
Abby is passionate about working together with people to develop individualised lifestyle and movement programs with the focus of achieving their personal and Work/NDIS goals. Abby has a keen interest in working alongside those who experience mental ill health, chronic pain, musculoskeletal injuries, women’s health conditions and neurological disorders. Abby has a passion for providing the support to empower people to become the very best versions of themselves that they can.
Outside of work, Abby loves to spend her spare time travelling, in the gym, exploring on her bike and spending time with family and friends.
Luke O'Connor

Luke joined the team at Uplift Exercise Physiology after graduating with a Master of Exercise Physiology at the University of Newcastle. Luke also completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Newcastle.
Luke is passionate about working with individuals of any age group and fitness level by providing them with the tools and education to assist in achieving their personal and Work/NDIS goals. Luke creates personalized lifestyle and movement programs by recognizing each individuals’ differences and takes a client centred and evidence-based approach towards treatment. Luke enjoys empowering people with a range of different conditions including musculoskeletal injuries, physical and psychosocial disabilities, mental illness and chronic pain.
Outside of work you will find Luke training himself in the gym, playing his favourite sport basketball, exploring on his mountain bike or travelling in his 4WD.
Mykaila Walls

Mykaila joined the team at Uplift Exercise Physiology following the completion of her Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of New England. While undertaking her degree, Mykaila worked within the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, which allowed her to gain great experience within gym based settings.
Mykaila is passionate about assisting individuals in working towards achieving their goals and improving their ability to complete activities of daily living through implementing tailored and individualised programs. Mykaila especially loves working with people with neurological conditions, musculoskeletal injuries and older adults.
Outside of work, Mykaila loves spending time with friends and family, going to the beach and training at the gym.
Grace Mckeown

Grace joined the team at Uplift Exercise Physiology after graduating with a Masters of Exercise Physiology at the University of Newcastle. This was following the completion of a Bachelors degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Newcastle in 2021. Whilst studying, Grace gained valuable experience working as an Accredited Exercise Scientist and a Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Grace is passionate about collaborating with clients, to help them achieve their highest potential. Grace takes a goal-focussed approach – working with her clients to find out what they want to achieve, and then reverse-engineering the exercise program to ensure a positive outcome. Grace loves working with people with a wide variety of conditions including musculoskeletal injuries, mental illness, chronic pain, as well as physical and psychosocial disabilities. Grace also has a keen interest in women’s health and has spent several years increasing her knowledge and skills in a female gym environment.
Outside of work, Grace enjoys an active lifestyle – going to the gym, walking, travelling, being outdoors, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Annalise Norton

Annalise joined the team at Uplift Exercise Physiology after graduating with a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the Southern Cross University on the Gold Coast. Prior to that, Annalise also completed her Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Newcastle in 2020. Annalise has three years of experience working in the occupational rehabilitation and clinical exercise physiology space as a support assistant where she experienced NSW, QLD, VIC, WA, NT and TAS Workcover schemes.
Annalise is passionate about supporting individuals to engage in individualised programs focusing on a holistic client centred and evidence-based approach to help achieve their personal and Work/NDIS goals. Annalise enjoys working together with individuals with a variety of conditions including musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, mental ill health, and neurological conditions. Annalise is passionate about facilitating a greater quality of life and overall well-being for those individuals she works alongside.
Outside of work, Annalise enjoys spending time outdoors walking, running or going to the beach and spending quality time with family and friends.
Kate Broekman

Kate joined Uplift after working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, gaining essential skills, and an understanding of effective collaboration between multiple allied health professionals. Kate is very well studied, having completed multiple university degrees including a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science at Australian Catholic University, a Post Graduate Certificate of High-Performance Sport, and most recently a Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology. Kate’s extensive studies and professional background uniquely equip her to support individuals cope with illness and disability, and then move towards their best life.
Kate brings a unique range of qualities to the team, including her personal experience working with people with a range of disabilities and needs. Kate is also passionate about providing a holistic approach to exercise rehabilitation for a range of various injuries and conditions. Kate is especially interested in assisting those who experience chronic pain, musculoskeletal injuries, mental health and physical and psychological disabilities.
Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time walking or running at the beach, in the gym and keeping her cup full by spending time with her friends and family.
Molly Cushan
Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Molly joined the team at Uplift Exercise Physiology after working in the occupational rehabilitation setting as a Rehabilitation Consultant in the Newcastle and Central Coast region. Academically, Molly has completed a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation at the University of Canberra. Molly has a wealth of diverse experience working as an Aged Care Worker and NDIS Support Worker as well as a Rugby Union Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Molly enjoys assisting individuals to achieve their goals and improve their ability to live independently and move freely by implementing tailored exercise programs. Molly has a particular passion in working with older adults as well as people with musculoskeletal injuries and neurological conditions.
Outside of work, you can find Molly training in the gym, bike riding, camping and travelling to visit family and friends. Being new to the area, Molly has enjoyed exploring Newcastle and visiting the various local beaches in the warmer months.
Tom Davies

Tom joined Uplift Exercise Physiology after previously working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team for over three and a half years. Tom gained invaluable experience working within the NDIS sector during this time, and has acquired many skills in identifying how an individuals’ physical capabilities can be positively impacted by individualised exercise prescription.
Tom is highly credentialled, having completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Newcastle University in 2019, before completing his Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Charles Sturt University in 2021.
Tom is passionate about improving people’s quality of life, enabling them to participate in meaningful activities in which they enjoy. Tom values working closely with his clients to identify their exercise related goals and providing tailored exercise prescription to achieve this. As a result of Tom’s NDIS background, he enjoys working with a broad range of disabilities and health conditions including musculoskeletal injuries, mental ill health, autism and neurological conditions.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys travelling and participating in a wide variety of activities including soccer, surfing, pickleball, running and rock climbing.
Tristan Coetzer

Tristan is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with a comprehensive background in Exercise Science. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Flinders University and completed his Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Charles Sturt University. Tristan has gained valuable experience across high-performance environments, clinical settings, and academic roles.
With a strong passion for facilitating individuals to achieve their goals, Tristan specialises in developing individualised and tailored exercise programs designed to enhance functional capacity and achieve successful outcomes. His focus is on delivering person-centred care that empowers clients and supports their personal and rehabilitative goals. Tristan also has a keen interest in the workers’ compensation, CTP, and personal injury fields, where he seeks to contribute significantly to the areas of rehabilitation and recovery.
Outside of his professional endeavours, Tristan has been involved in rugby since the age of five. Originally from New Zealand and South Australia, he is eager to explore and integrate into the rugby community here in Newcastle.
